About a month ago, I took Marisa over to meet little Alison for the first time. At first she didn't seem too interested in the little baby, since Chewy (the golden retriever) was licking her to death. However, Marisa's interest in the baby changed when I ran outside to get something from the car. Angela told me that Marisa was sitting in their recliner when she pointed at the baby and held her arms out. Then she proceeded to tell Angela, "ME, Baby, HOLD". Angela, had to nicely tell Marisa that she didn't think she was big enough to hold Baby Alison, yet. So, she was ok with that and found something else to occupy her time. Based on the pictures I got of her holding her cabbage patch, recently, I think Angela was wise to tell Marisa she wasn't big enough to hold Baby Alison. Of course, her cabbage patch is almost as tall as she is. So, maybe she could have held Baby Alison. All I know is that she is slowly honing her sister skills. I tell Josh all the time that she's ready for a little Brother. Oh yeah, that's another thing I'm working on. I'm teaching her to say..."Dadda, I want a baby brother." So, far, it's backfired when I've asked her about it, and she says NO BABY! Josh just laughs. |
